Last few days

We're down to the final days of Christmas break and we're trying to cram as much fun in as possible! Payton has really been enjoying his freedom over the past 2 weeks. He has had late nights at home, laid-back mornings, sleepovers, play dates galore, and more time on his Kindle than he will typically have during school days.

But it's nice to be able to relax and let go a little on the rules every now and then. Of course, things will be back to normal come Monday, and that may be greeted with some attitude. We'll see...

Yesterday morning, the boys climbed into Payton's bed together and cuddled while Payton read a book to Parker. It was SO cute! I hope they continue to do these kinds of things as Parker gets older.
After a relaxing morning, we met some friends at the Glazer Children's Museum. It's one of the best children's museums I've ever been to. We've been 3 times now and I still feel like we've only scratched the surface of all of the exhibits. There's just so much to do, touch, play with, and explore. The kids love it because they can get into everything and run around like wild children and it's okay!

Parker was cracking me up because he found this little pretend garden area and he picked up all of the fake tomatoes and put them into this basket. Then proceeded to carry the basket around with him through all of the exhibits on that floor. I have no clue why these tomatoes were so precious to him, but he would not let them go! I was cracking up at him.

Payton was having a ball with his buddies, Max & Quinn. I could barely get a photo of them before they were off and running to another area.
(Thinking of installing one of these bikes at our house. You have to pedal it to get electricity. Think I could hook up the TV, computer & Kindle to something like this???)

After the museum - and a nice, LONG nap for Parker, I went to get the car washed. Big mistake. Apparently Parker is still terrified of car washes. He looked very timid at first, but then once the big scrubbers started on both sides of the car, he freaked out! He kept screaming, "NO! GO HOME!" I felt awful! (But it was a little funny...in that mean parent sort of way.)
Today, we met our friends Rachel & Lilly for some jump time at a bounce house place. I was shocked at how well Parker could navigate all of those bounce houses! Even the giant slide - he had no fear! I wish I could have taken pictures of him, but I was too busy chasing him around everywhere and certainly didn't have an opportunity to carry a camera!

Tonight is the first non-event, no-friends, non-sleepover night we've had in about a week. I'm very much looking forward to letting the boys linger in the bath together, eating dinner together as a family, and then relaxing on the couch with Brian...till we pass out at 8:30 p.m. Ha.. ha..
