We decided to take a little stay-cation this weekend. You know, a vacation where you stay in your own town. It was so much fun! I got the boys matching Halloween shirts (see picture to the left) and made Halloween gift bags for each of them. I really wanted Payton to feel like we were going on vacation - that it was a special occasion.
First, we took Payton out of school at lunchtime on Friday. He thought this was incredibly special. Then we went straight to Busch Gardens for the remainder of the day. Although it wasn't Parker's first time at the park, it is the first time we've taken him since he could crawl and really enjoy seeing all the animals and shows. But most of all, both boys had the best time in the Sesame Street water park area (sorry for the influx of pictures, but there are so many fun ones to share!).
Parker LOVED the mini waterfalls...
Just LOOK at that smile - priceless!
Once Parker's teeth started chattering, I took him out and wrapped him up and went to see the Elmo show. I think he enjoyed it, although I'm not sure. He just kept making grunting sounds.
Then Payton rode the Grover's Air roller coaster three times (sorry, we didn't pay the $15 for the picture of the ride - can you believe that?!? $15?!?) Anyhow, then we went to the other part of the water park area that was much more baby-friendly as it had lots of "bubble up's" that both boys enjoyed playing with.
Payton was cracking us up standing under the water buckets getting DRENCHED time and time again...
Here it comes...
Closer...
DRENCHED!
Payton also rode several rides...
While we looked on...
We left the park around 6 p.m. and headed to a hotel over on the water that is about 10 minutes from our house. My cousin hooked us up with a "friends and family" discount (thanks Wendy!!!) so we got a King suit with a water view for a total steal! We had determined ahead of time that only Brian and Payton would spend the night in the hotel, since Parker and I would sleep much better in our own beds (plus we both had colds). And that allowed the boys to have an "ultimate guy's night." They ordered pizza, went night swimming, stayed up WAY too late, ate way too much sugar, and then got up way too early. But they got to watch the sun rise together and then they hit the breakfast buffet (twice!). Payton thought he was in heaven.
Parker and I came back the next morning and had breakfast with them and hung out in their room for a bit.
Here's Brian and Parker enjoying some cuddle time (with Pikachu of course):
And Payton feeling like a king, all wrapped up in the down comforter reading his book:
Here is a view from the window (sorry for the reflection):
What a wonderful time we all had! What kind of stay-cation could you come up with in your town???
