It's never quite what you're expecting.
Here we are gearing up for an exciting last few days before Christmas..when the phone rings...and life changes.
We found out last Tuesday that Brian's beloved grandfather had a massive heart attack.
He turned 94 that same day.
His beautiful wife passed away several years ago, and now he is reunited with her in all of their younger glory.
I don't know what heaven is like, but I envision his wife Mary, standing behind Jesus, waiting for him with open arms, running to him with a healthy, exuberant body. I'd like to think they will embrace and kiss and know that they will never have to say goodbye again.
So while our hearts grieve the loss of the patriarch of the family, we will also remember his incredibly brave, heroic, passionate, loving life that he led here on Earth.
We love you Grandpa. And you will be missed until we are reunited with you again someday.
